BACKGROUND
The Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) is a member-owned, non-profit entity with thousands of members worldwide focused on building resiliency in the industry through the concept of mutual defense. The FS-ISAC shares threat and vulnerability information conducts coordinated exercises, manages rapid response communications for both cyber and physical events, conducts education and training programs, and fosters collaboration with other key industries and the public sector.

POSITION SUMMARY
This internship position will deliver practical cyber threat intelligence skills and knowledge to the intern through on-the-job, industry work experience. The intern will gain skills and knowledge by providing support to and being mentored by the following FS-ISAC Global Intelligence Office (GIO) personnel: Global Intelligence Officer (APAC), Intelligence Analyst (IA), and Technical Analyst (TA). The intern is expected to work on technical threat analysis and projects to enhance the cybersecurity and resilience of FS-ISAC members.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct multiple-source intelligence analysis on current and emerging threats using advanced research methods and analytical techniques to produce polished, actionable intelligence reports in coordination with the GIO’s intelligence strategy;

• Provide support to Technical Analysts and Intelligence Officers in delivering tactical/technical intelligence to FS-ISAC members on sector-specific threats, in accordance with FS-ISAC classification and handling protocols;

• Monitor and analyze real-time and historical information and conduct deep research from various sources daily;

• Throughout the course of the internship, develop in-depth knowledge of financial sector assets, activities, and members to provide meaningful critical information support;

• Participate in information security and cyber threat intelligence training and events; and

• Evaluate and recommend open-source intelligence tools and resources to enhance threat analysis.


REQUIREMENTS

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in information systems, cybersecurity, or any other related field.

• Technical Skills – Has basic knowledge of cyber security technology, techniques, and practices for threat research and intelligence.

• Development Skills – Experience using Linux, Python, and/or Docker and Singularity container platforms

• Communication Skills – Has effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to compose finished intelligence reports in a timely, concise, and accurate manner in accordance with the GIO style guide.

• Critical Thinking Skills – Can approach data collection and data analysis in an objective, logical, and rational manner, and understand bias and possible relationships of exercise informed judgment and initiative.

• Interpersonal Skills – a strong ability to work as part of a diverse team and collaborate effectively with others.

• Organizational Skills – Possesses strong time management skills to work on multiple products at the same time to tight deadlines and high quality.

• Internship Period – A minimum commitment of 4 months, with options for either full-time or part-time internship.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Internships are for local Singapore applicants only. Relocation and/or visas will not be sponsored by FS-ISAC. All employees must be authorized to work in Singapore.
